Epiphany People
Did you know that in the Church calendar, the Christmas season doesn’t end on Christmas Day? After the twelve days of Christmastide, we reach a significant day - Epiphany. What is this church holiday all about, and how might it change the way I live in 2024?
New City Men: Disciples Making Disciples
The mission of New City Men is to help men live in light of the gospel of Jesus Christ by growing in their knowledge of and love for God and neighbor.
Thoughts on Sabbath: Slowing Down
I’ve been thinking lately about the pace of life as we know it. Many of us are constantly running around throughout the day trying to juggle a myriad of responsibilities, kids, extra-curricular activities, and the billions of thoughts and ideas passing through our brain at any second. It’s a lot. When did life get this way? Better question, how did we let it?

New City Church Macon is seeking a full-time Music & Tech Director who will help lead New City Church Macon to live in light of the gospel by planning gospel-centered liturgy and/or music for Sunday mornings and other events; developing, equipping, and leading music, tech and liturgy teams; and leveraging the gifts at New City to reach those outside of our family through production and events.
Work: What is it for?
Because of Adam’s rebellion and failure to obey the Word of the Lord, death and toil entered creation. The ground was cursed, and Adam’s work became painful. Is this just the way it always has been and always will be?
But You Still Love Me
His love for us doesn’t rest on our performance, our rightness, or the many other ways we often define ourselves or measure our worth or lovability. His love for us is determined by our identity- we are his.
What is a person?
So how does the Bible answer what does it mean to be human? To be made in the image of God. This is a phrase church people use a lot, and I think it can lose its meaning. What does it mean to be the image and likeness of God?
O Great God, Be Small Enough to Hear Me Now
“Oh great God, be small enough to hear me now,” I cried out through tears. Be small enough to hear my ache, my hurt, my fear; be small enough to meet me here. And again and again, my Jesus made himself small, to meet me in my smallness, in my fear, in my doubt.
The God Who Sees
We can look back at the Scriptures which followed after Adam and Eve were banished from the garden and see that the Lord never did give up on his creation. He has never taken his eye off what he made for his purposes. As his eye is ever on the sparrow, it is on mankind.
Sponsor a Chair Fundraiser
At our Partners' Dinner last night, we announced an easy little fundraiser - Sponsor a Chair! Help us get the sanctuary chairs we need for the new building by giving $40 per chair.
A Gracious God Who Makes Us Right
The question “How are we made right with God?” has been the focus of my study recently. Since I’ve been a Christ-follower for many years, this question and its answer seemed to me elementary and simple. Even if you haven’t considered the question or its implications, it’s easy to give the Sunday School answer (Jesus!) and go on about your day, likely not giving it much more thought.
