New City Kids

“Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth.”
Psalm 127:4

This verse tells us just how powerful kids who love and follow Jesus are in God’s hands! New City Kids seeks to help children live in light of the gospel and to come alongside parents to make young disciples of Jesus who make other disciples of Jesus.  We strive to remove every obstacle between our kids and the real Jesus, and to keep Him at the forefront of all that we do. After all, Jesus is the Hero in every story!

What to expect

  • At Check-In:

Check-in begins 20 minutes before the service time. Our registration team will greet your family and collect your contact information as well as your child’s grade, date of birth and any allergy information. We use an electronic check-in system that assigns a matching security code to kids and parents for safe pick-up. On your first visit, we recommend allowing 10-15 extra minutes for registration.

  • In our Classrooms:

We offer classes for every age from birth through 5th grade. All our teachers and helpers receive background checks, are trained in curriculum and safety procedures, and are eager to welcome your kids and teach them about Jesus! During class, children will engage in Bible stories, activities, Scripture memory, singing and prayer. Check the FAQ section for curriculum information.

  • At Drop-Off & Pick-Up

On your first visit, a volunteer will help you find your child’s classroom and will introduce you and your child to the teachers. You will be notified if any issues arise during class time. Only a parent or another adult with the security tag may pick up children from the classroom. Children may not leave the classroom on their own. Parents are asked to pick up children by 11:30am.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We take the safety of children very seriously! For this reason, all volunteers 18 years and older receive a criminal background check every 3 years. At least two volunteers serve in each classroom. The children’s floor entrance is locked 15 minutes after the service begins, and a member of the Check-In team is at the desk for the entirety of the service. For more information including bathroom and diaper changing policies, view our Health & Safety Procedures here.

  • We believe children are never too young to hear the good news of the Gospel- the power of God for salvation to all who believe through all that Jesus has done in his life, death and resurrection!

Our Toddler, 4K/5K, 1st/2nd grade, and 3rd-5th grade classes use the Gospel Project curriculum. Our Nursery class gets a short lesson from this curriculum developed by The Village Church!

  • We offer Gerber Puffs and Goldfish in our nursery. Toddlers and up have Godlfish and Animal Crackers. At this time, we are not able to offer allergy-friendly snacks, but you are welcome to send a snack with your child!

  • Of course! Children are welcome in the larger gathering. We have a Quiet Room for moms and babies at the back of the sanctuary, as well as sermon notes sheets for older kids who attend the service with their parents.

If you want your child to participate in corporate singing, you may check them in after music is done.

If you check your child in and then decide to take them upstairs, please notify the Check-In team before going to the larger gathering.

  • We always have opportunities to serve with New City Kids! Volunteers typically serve in the same spot each month. For example, on week 1 at 9am in the Nursery class.

Volunteers are required to complete a background check and review our New City Kids handbook before serving.

We have Teachers who lead the class, and Helpers who assist the Teachers. If you’d like to begin serving, email our Next Gen Director here!

  • We offer a class for every age from birth-5th grade. Our preschool classes are 0K-5K, and elementary classes are 1st-5th.
