Fellowship

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:9

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:24-25

Fellowship refers to the practice of intentional, Christ-centered community and relationship building with fellow believers. Grounded in the Gospel, fellowship is the sharing of our lives with each other in ways that reflect the unity we have with Christ, who lives in perfect fellowship with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. Through Christ’s death and resurrection, believers are reconciled to God and to one another. We are made part of a new spiritual family (the Church) where we share in the grace, truth, and love of God. Practicing Christian fellowship involves gathering for worship and prayer, giving and receiving accountability and encouragement, serving one another, experiencing and providing hospitality, and living on mission together to share the Gospel and demonstrate the love of Jesus to the world.

Practical Suggestions

  1. Join a Missional Community; commit to attending each family gathering.

  2. Invite someone for a meal or other activity this month; share your story of how you came to know Jesus.

  3. Invite an unbelieving/unchurched friend to a Third Place activity with your MC.
